His worship Kedir Juhar Ibrahim started actively participating in leadership roles and political activities by his early age as Dire Dawa youth leader when he was in High school and University level.

He started his employment history as executive chairman of Kebele level at Dire Dawa City administration.

Mayor ibrahim was promoted to Youth and Sport commissioner and later as Council House speaker of Dire Dawa City Administration thanks to his leadership achievements and changes he brought in this institution. For three years, he served Dire Dawa City as Deputy Mayor and on 29 Sep 2021 was sworn as Mayor of the city, located 525 km east of Addis Ababa, for the next five years.

Mayor Ibrahim is one of youngest mayors in Dire Dawa history among all previous mayors. Dire Dawa is the seventh largest city in Ethiopia, located 525 km east of Addis Ababa. Dire Dawa Administration, which consists of the city of Dire Dawa and the surrounding rural areas, has a total population of 313,000, as per the 2019 projection.
