In 2007, Nana Akosua Gyamfiaba II was enstooled as Queen-mother of Nyankrom. A high office she has been handling since then. Since her ascension to the throne, she has spear-headed a number of development projects for the community. Her passion for her job with women and children has enabled her to focus on humanitarian, developmental and philanthropic ventures.

She has been a speaker at various functions and spoken on various developmental and traditional issues. She has a special place in her heart for the aged, the deprived and the adolescent. She has on her own sponsored many brilliant but needy students in her community. Currently she acts as the paramount Queen-mother for the Shama traditional area.
