Dr. Dewan Chandrebhose Sharman is Deputy-Chair of the Parliament of Suriname. Having studied medicine and serving as a General Practitioner since 1994 at governmental clinics, he has received training in suicide prevention and intervention. Since 2015 he has served as a member of the Parliament and is spokesperson of VHP.

In June 2020, Dr. Sharman became deputy chair of DNA. Furthermore, he has served as board member of Arya Dewaker, the largest Arya Samaj organization in Suriname having also been involved in different social and service organizations such as Swarna Path and Swayam CV Sewak Sangh.
