Honorable Mr. Adeoye Owolewa was elected Commissioner of his neighborhood in Southeast Washington, D.C. in 2018. In this role, he served as the medium between the community and the local government. Mr. Owolewa worked to bring resources to the underserved by advising Washington, D.C. lawmakers based on continued community feedback.

Some of Mr. Owolewa’s most notable achievements included increasing science enrichment programs in Southeast elementary schools, adding traffic safety measures, and helping to bring a Senior Day Center to the neighborhood.
