His Worship Pandit Ubraj Narine was born on the Essequibo Coast of Guyana. Before picking up the mantle as Mayor of the City of Georgetown, His Worship Ubraj Narine has been a Hindu Priest for sixteen years and has been doing Paralegal Service for five years.

He obtained a Diploma from the Cornerstone Christian Correspondence School, a Certificate of Custom brokers, a Certificate in Pandit training from the International Vedanta University, a Certificate in Hindu Rituals and Ceremonies, and a Certificate in Level 1 & 2 of Sanskrit Language to name just a few.

His Worship plans for the City of Georgetown are numerous, from security to hygiene and city development. His vision is bright, as it is clear, and he has the best interest of the City of Georgetown at heart. His motto is “I am here to build bridges, not walls”. He is a Pandit who accepts and has great respect for all other religions. He is wise in his ways, and believes that he has what it takes to bring changes and development to the City of Georgetown and Guyana.
