Dr. Shekher, is a man of boundless enthusiasm and a man for the People. Dr. Shekher is renowned in the field of television, film, theater, broadcasting, photography and videography and is best known for his punch, quick wit and humor. He has won the “Best All India Programme Producers Award” for 4 years in a row from the Radio and TV Advertising Practitioners Association of India Ltd.

Dr. Shekher founded his own drama troupe, Natakharpiya, which has produced 25 stage plays and performed 6700 shows in locations around the world. He has been acknowledged as an unsurpassed feat of stage artiste in the Limca Book of Records. Dr. Shekher made his debut in celluloid in 1980 with K. Balachander’s Varumayin Niram Sigappu and has acted in 95 films. He is currently the Expert Committee Member in the Ministry of Culture and has received numerous awards including Kalaivanar Award in 1991 and Kalaimamani in 1993 to name a few.

Dr. Shekher continues to be extremely active in fundraising events for many organizations to support the needs of society’s members including the ill, needy and disadvantaged.
